In September 2022, Borrego officially launched Anza, a new solar and battery storage procurement marketplace and optimization solution. The proprietary Anza application is based on Borrego’s time-tested and highly refined internal project development optimization tools, designed to deliver the most financially attractive equipment options for developers, IPPs, and EPCs. The Anza team is led by long-time Borrego CEO Mike Hall and President Aaron Hall, one of the industry’s leading experts in solar procurement. They’re joined by Malini Balakrishnan, Borrego’s CIO and Anza’s CTO, and John duPont, VP of Business Development and Operations.

In July 2022, Borrego spun off and sold its development business, including its pipeline of solar and energy storage projects. As a newly launched company, New Leaf Energy will continue to develop financially valuable projects and sell them to IPPs and system owners. Under the new organization, the former Borrego Development team remains intact and will be led by Dan Berwick and other former Borrego leaders Brendan Neagle, Jacqueline Ashmore, and Andrew Reed.
